Dual Sensor Motion Camera
Our proprietary wireless Hi-Res camera was designed by our engineers for the marine environment, and have withstood the harshest of storms, motion, and frequent power outages, while maintaining connectivity to the DockIQ platform.
Using the “Camera and Motion Planning Section”, the user will decide the placement of the camera based on coverage area wanted, access to a receptacle for power and the view the camera should have when taking pictures. Some people will want to see photos of the rear of the dock where people are swimming, or people that might be boarding the boat from the rear, or dock security concerns. Other people want to view photos of people on the dock ramp. Either location is acceptable.
Our cameras have a magnetic mount that allows you quickly pick a spot, mount it and start talking pictures with the DockIQ app. If you need a different view, just move the camera to another location. The DockIQ platform supports installing multiple cameras on a dock and allows the user to assign a name to each. Printed photos include the camera name, so you know what camera took the picture.
The camera cover includes a small pin-hole where you can see a green light when its communicating with the controller. If the light is red, you can hit the reset button on the left side of the unit to reset the unit and reestablish communications.
The DockIQ App is used to manage the camera settings, take pictures, respond to alerts, viewing of the phots taken- including zooming around the image, plus a sharing option to send or save locally to your phone.
The camera plays a large part in the security of your dock. With Dock Security enabled in the App, your system is using the motion sensors to sense the presence of a person(s) on your dock. When sensed, your attached lights are turned on, the siren goes off, and your camera(s) start taking pictures automatically to provide proof of the invasion. All of the pictures are sent to the cloud for later review and sharing if needed. Your photo storage is divided into two locations: pictures taken during a motion event alert, and ones that you took via the mobile app – all of these are backed up automatically, not taking up phone storage, and no limit to the number of photos or an additional charge to you.
Dual Sensor Motion Camera
The DockIQ platform ships with a dual PIR Motion Sensor(see picture). PIR stands for Passive Infrared Sensor, these types of sensors are used to help identify infrared light radiating from objects and the surroundings around your dock.
Just like the camera, the motion sensor will be installed and positioned based on your requirements. Using the “Camera and Motion Planning Section”, the user will place the unit in an area that will give the best path of signal from the people you are trying to detect.
Keep in mind, our software is using AI (Artificial Intelligence) to help confirm people are in the images and are on your dock. This helps reduce what the industry calls “false positives” -getting alerts on things that are not valid.
Based on the size of your dock and the coverage needed , the user may install additional motion sensors as needed. They can be mounted on the dock post or mounted overhead in the ceiling. The motion sensors are battery operated and will require a battery replacement 6 months out. The system does track battery level and could alert you when low. Just like the camera setup, the units have magnetic bases and are user named in the App. In general, you mount & point them in the direction of where you are trying to sense movement.
Any motion detected, triggers the system to sound the siren on the controller, start taking pictures, evaluate the pictures(with AI) and send alert if confirmed. The system will continue to take pictures if the person stays on your dock, giving you time to call for help.
